The 2023 vintage began with a wet and rainy winter, with precipitation continuing through much of the spring. On June 18th, a brief hailstorm occurred, followed by unusually high temperatures in July, interspersed with thunderstorms that encouraged the development of downy mildew and repeated vegetative growth, delaying ripening. Veraison began in early August, later than average. A cool, sunny, and breezy September supported phenolic development. Harvest was postponed until October to ensure perfect grape ripeness. Although yields were among the lowest of the past decades, the grapes showed high acidity, abundant sugar content, and aromas and colors of remarkable intensity.
The 2019 vintage began with a mild winter and rainfall
towards the end of February. Spring was rainy,
while the summer in the months of June and July sunny with
little rainfall. There were no peaks in elevation
temperature even in August. The foliar apparatus is
remained practically intact and brought the grapes to one
gradual and perfect maturation, optimal for a perfect
phenolic and technological maturation.
